May 9 – May 10
In 12 years PASA has served over 14,000 youth. Our public private intermediary has been supported by 3 Mayors and 7 Superintendents and over 100 community arts, sports and STEM providers. We are increasing school attendance and seeing young people develop team work, problem solving and communications skills that they need to succeed in college and in work.
Every year the Providence After School Alliance (PASA) holds a two day City Symposium for cities and regions interested in learning about or replicating our middle school model we call the AfterZone. Over 40 cities have attended and headed home with ideas for starting or expanding their own middle school model, establishing a management intermediary, and seeing what it takes to get the non-profit and public sector community to embrace a set of standards and practices that motivates high youth participation.
This year we are excited to be hosting Tacoma, WA; Tulsa OK; New York, NY; New Britain, CT; Woonsocket, RI; and Worcester MA!
