PASA’s Model

PASA is an alliance that provides high quality out-of-school time learning opportunities at no cost to youth and families. We provide a safe and productive after school environment for youth through citywide coordination of programs plus staffing, transportation and meals. We maximize donor investments, provide training and professional development for community partners, assess program impact, and reinvest in Providence's youth development community, contracting with program partners including nonprofit organizations, teachers and independent educators.

  • Citywide Coordination. We mobilize delivery of programs across Providence, facilitating logistics and multi-site program delivery including transportation and meals. We coordinate youth recruitment and registration, matching young people to programs of interest, so our program partners can focus solely on delivering high-quality programs.
  • Growing Community of Program Partners. PASA collaborates with individuals and organizations throughout the City that are committed to providing new and exciting learning opportunities for Providence young people. Over 130 part-time instructors apply 3 times per year to offer programs at both the middle and high school levels.
  • Quality programs.  All PASA programs support our Graduate Profile Skills of communication, teamwork, critical thinking, perseverance, and engagement in learning. We set high standards and offer professional development to ensure we are making an impact on our youth participants.
  • Leverage resources.  For 20 years, PASA has sought and secured philanthropic investments from a mix of public and private sources including funds from a growing list of dedicated individual donors that have helped to transform the lives of over 22,000 middle and high school youth.
