As the Staff Writer, Michael oversees PASA’s organizational
messaging, as well as PASA’s press releases, newsletters, and website updates.
Additionally, she serves as a grant writer, identifying and securing new funding
for PASA and its partners. Prior to her work at PASA, Michael worked as a
Membership and Development Associate at the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San
Francisco, and most recently as the Public Programs Manager at San Francisco
Zen Center, where her focus was on creating community and organizational
partnerships while maintaining Zen Center’s cultural visibility. While living
in the Bay Area, she taught as an artist-in-residence at San Francisco School
of the Arts High School, volunteered with Streetside Stories, an organization
dedicated to helping youth tell their stories, and Covenant House, a
wrap-around transitional housing organization for homeless youth. Michael holds
a MA in Visual Studies from California College of the Arts. Originally from Nashville, TN., she currently lives in Providence.

Eric Collins
HR/Office Coordinator

Eric oversees and coordinates the administrative functions of the PASA office, including human resources, payroll, and office and contract management. He supports the Finance Director in fiscal and HR procedures and the Deputy Director in coordinating statewide professional development trainings. Prior to working for PASA, Eric worked as a substitute teacher for K-8th grade at the Gordon School in East Providence. Eric holds a Masters of Education degree in Curriculum Studies from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He currently lives in East Providence.

Elizabeth Devaney

As PASA's former Deputy Director, Elizabeth helped to head PASA's quality improvement strategy aimed at helping build the capacity of after-school organizations to provide high-quality programming. She continues to work closely with PASA as its Quality Consultant. Prior to joining PASA, Elizabeth was a Project Director at the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL) in Chicago, IL. She worked with school principals and their staff on the implementation and evaluation of social and emotional learning (SEL) programming in their schools. She has held positions at the Education Development Center in Newton, MA, and Dimock Community Health Center in Roxbury, MA. Elizabeth received a bachelor's degree from Trinity College and a master's degree in social policy, with a concentration in youth and family programs, from the Heller School at Brandeis University. Elizabeth is a native of Massachusetts and currently resides in Tacoma, WA with her husband and two children.

Patrick Duhon
Director of Expanded Learning

In this role, Patrick Duhon works jointly with PASA and the school department to develop a seamless day of learning. Prior to taking this position, Patrick served as PASA’s Deputy Director and led the development and implementation of the AfterZone model. Before joining PASA, Patrick directed the launch of the local City Year AmeriCorps national service program in Seattle. Patrick has a strong background in citywide systems gained through his work with King County Department of Transportation in Seattle. While there, he managed community relations and public involvement in politically charged transit and regional planning projects. Patrick has directed higher education service-learning programs, taught at the high school and college levels, and led and collaborated on several community, social justice and faith-based initiatives in New York City and Cleveland, OH. He holds a BA in International Studies from The Ohio State University and an MS in Urban Studies from the Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University. A native of Akron, Ohio, Patrick currently lives with his wife and two children in Cranston.

Damian Ewens
Director of High School Initiatives/The Hub

In this role, Damian directs PASA's high school initiative, The Hub, which supports an innovative, flexible and relevant citywide, expanded learning network that promotes and supports all high school aged youth in their career and college readiness, personal growth, community engagement and self-sustainability. Damian previously worked at Big Picture Learning where he managed the development and communications strategies while working directly with the founders on all strategic initiatives. Damian's education career began in the classroom where he taught for 7 years in all grades from 6th through 12th. He holds an MA in Education from Stanford University and a BS from Santa Clara University. Damian is a native of Providence, Rhode Island where he lives with his wife and newborn daughter.

Jessie Kerr-Vanderslice
Co-Director of the AfterZone/Quality

As the Co-Director of the AfterZone, Jessie oversees the quality control of all AfterZone programs. Previously, as the North End/East Side & Olneyville AfterZone Manager, she worked to connect youth from DelSesto, Nathan Bishop and Esek Hopkins middle schools with programs headed by experienced and talented providers. A Rhode Island native, Jessie comes to PASA from Washington, D.C., where she served as a head teacher both during the day and after-school at Centronia School, a bilingual arts-based school. Prior to living in D.C., Jessie worked on community-organizing issues with Latino migrant workers in and around Syracuse, New York. In this position, she created a translator network for two local hospitals and organized emergency response activities and community festivals. While studying abroad, Jessie taught English to impoverished 7th-10th grade students in a rural town outside of Santiago, Chile, with the program Ingles Abre Puertas. Jessie received her BA from Syracuse University, with a dual major in Textual Studies and Studio Art, and a minor in Spanish Language and Literature.

Kerri Lemoie
Hub Technology Coordinator

Kerri serves as the Technology Coordinator for The Hub, maintaining www.HubProv.com in coordination with the Hub Youth Team.  Her skills and experience range from web programming, business development, team management and project coordination. She serves as the sole proprietor of Lemoie Consulting, which provides web development and project leadership services to design studios like Schwadesign, and she has been working with the web professionally since 1998. She started at Amazon.com where she participated in several high-profile launches and developed an intranet for the customer service department that provided paperless processes, data retention and training tools.  Later at InsureMyTrip.com, she established a scalable technology team that programmed, tested and supported the website as well as supported all internal technical operations. A Rhode Island College graduate, Kerri is passionate about the web and open source technology. She resides in Cranston. 

Y. Georges Minyayluk, CPA

As Finance Director, Georges oversees all financial transactions, manages all grants and contracts, and tracks revenues and expenses for the Board of Directors and PASA staff. Georges has had extensive experience in working the public, municipal and private sectors. Prior to joining PASA, he served the Assistant Finance Director for the Town of Cumberland, RI and spent 4 years as a Portfolio Manager and Principal for State Street Global Advisors. He was also the Senior Investment Accountant for the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Georges holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from Johns Hopkins University and a MS in Accounting and MBA from Northeastern University. A native of Ukraine, Georges now resides in Lincoln with his family.

Alejandro Molina

As PASA's Deputy Director, Alejandro oversees grants, communications and public relations in coordination with the Executive Director. As the former Director of Middle School Initiatives/The AfterZone, Alejandro oversaw all aspects of the growth and implementation of PASA’s AfterZone strategy. Prior to assuming this role, Alejandro served as an AfterZone Manager in the West End/South Side AfterZone. Before coming to PASA, Alejandro worked with youth in New York City in a variety of roles and settings. His background includes, program coordination, curriculum development, program design and creation, asset building, staff development and training. He received a BA in Sociology from Oswego State University. Originally from Mamaroneck, New York, Alejandro now resides in Providence.

Robert Pecchia
STEM Coordinator

Rob collaborates with the Director of Expanded Learning and the Deputy Director on the oversight of STEM programming in the AfterZone.  Prior to working for PASA, Rob worked as a field researcher specializing in coastal ecologies and shorebird monitoring for threatened species. He has worked as a mentor for young people through after school programs, and spent a summer biking from Providence to San Francisco building affordable housing from coast to coast. Rob holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Boston University. A Rhode Island native, he currently lives in Johnston.

Allison Quinn
Co-Director of the AfterZone/Operations

As the Co-Director of the AfterZone, Allison oversees the operations of all of PASA's AfterZone programs. Previously, as the West End/South Side AfterZone Manager, Allison supervised the AfterZone operations in the West End and South Side neighborhoods of Providence, working with community providers, parents, youth and schools to bring high-quality after-school programming to middle school youth. Previously, Allison served as the PASA AfterZone Site Coordinator for Roger Williams Middle School. Allison received a BA in Art History from Mansfield University, where she continued her studies in Education and later went on to Stellenbosch University in South Africa. There, she participated in the "Kayamandi Project" to help develop and implement after-school programming in the surrounding township. Allison then served as an AmeriCorps volunteer with the Rhode Island College Crusade before coming to PASA. A native of Elmira, NY, Allison now resides in Providence, RI.

Robert Randall

Rob is PASA's Operations Coordinator, helping to organize and facilitate the system-wide structure of
transportation, snack distribution and communications within the
AfterZones, as well as management of the AmeriCorps Everyday Explorers. Prior to working as the Operations Coordinator, he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the AfterZone at DelSesto Middle School and is a key part of the overall planning and implementation of the Olneyville AfterZone. Previous job experience includes the Out of School Time Director for Alfred Lima & Charles Fortes Elementary School, as a part of Providence YMCA Youth Services; Camp Co-Director at Camp Massasoit; and Senior Youth Engagement Specialist at DelSesto Middle School in the AfterZone.  Rob has over 7 years working with youth, from coaching to being a camp counselor.  In 2009, he was awarded the Greater Providence YMCA Youth Advocate of the Year.  Rob received his BA in English from Rhode Island College and lives with his wife in Cumberland, RI.

Hillary Salmons

In this role, Hillary manages the oversight of PASA and its three strategies. She also has primary responsibility for community engagement and fundraising efforts. Previously, Hillary led an education initiative called Rhode Island Scholars where business leaders spoke to middle school students around the state on the importance of college and taking math and science courses in high school. She also served as the Vice President for Program Development for Health & Education Leadership for Providence (HELP), a now-defunct coalition focused on improving the health and education of the children of Providence. While there, she worked to establish numerous systemic health and education initiatives. Hillary has a MA in Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma and a BA from Harvard University. She is a native of Newbury, Massachusetts, and now resides with her husband and two sons in Providence.

Lisa Isom
Site Coordinator, Esek Hopkins Middle School managed by the Providence Housing Authority

Lisa oversees the day-to-day operations of the AfterZone at Esek Hopkins Middle School and is a key member of the Olneyville AfterZone team. Lisa has been with the AfterZone since 2006, previously serving as the Site Supervisor at DelSesto Middle School. Before joining the AfterZone team, Lisa worked as a Family Advocate and Case Manager for Comprehensive Community Action and as a Student Conduct Case Manager at Johnson and Wales University. She holds a BA in criminal justice and psychology from Johnson and Wales University. A native of Providence, she currently lives in Olneyville with her husband and two sons.

Camely Machado
Site Coordinator, Samuel Bridgham Middle School managed by the John Hope Settlement House

Camely oversees the daily operations of the AfterZone at Bridgham Middle School and is a key part of the overall planning and implementation of the West End/South Side AfterZone.  She comes to PASA with over five years of experience working with middle school-aged youth. Before joining the PASA team, Camely was the Lead Middle School After School Program Teacher at The Gordon School in East Providence where she handled all after-school logistics, maintained communication with parents, and supervised student activities.  Camely received a Bachelor of Arts in both Film Media and History from the University of Rhode Island.  She is currently working toward her Master of Arts in Education/Secondary Teacher Education and lives in Riverside with her fiancée.

Leonardo Rios
Site Coordinator, Gilbert Stuart Middle School managed by the West End Community Center

Leo oversees the day-to-day operations of the AfterZone at Gilbert Stuart Middle School and is a key part of the overall planning and implementation of the North End/East Side AfterZone. Leo has spent the past 11 years in various programmatic and direct service positions at the YMCA, College Crusade, Family Services, Delaine House, Women's Resource Center of Newport and Paul Cuffee School. His career in public service started with eight years in the United States Army. Leo is fluent in Spanish and holds a degree in Criminal Justice from the College of New Rochelle in New York City. A native of the Bronx, he currently lives in Providence with his family.

Amanda Smidt
Site Coordinator, Roger Williams Middle School managed by Boys & Girls Clubs of Providence

Amanda oversees the daily AfterZone operations at Roger Williams Middle School and works closely with the rest of the West End/South Side AfterZone team.  While new to PASA, Amanda has worked in the AfterZone since September 2008 – first as a City Year Corps Member managing after-school programs for up to 100 youth a day, and then as a Senior Corps Member leading nine corps members in full-time service at Roger Williams.  While at City Year, Amanda was honored with the Starfish Service Award, was a Recruitment Campaign Champion and also served as the National Leadership Summit Representative.  Amanda holds a BA in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Nebraska and currently lives in Providence.
