Notable Information from The Wallace Foundation

The Wallace Foundation has just released two new items on their site that speak to those in the after-school and education fields.

The first is an out-of-school time report, Investments in Building Citywide Out-of-School-Time Systems: A Six-City Study.  Along with a companion synopsis, it completes a series of Wallace-commissioned products by Public/Private Ventures and The Finance Project that analyze for the first time the range of costs of providing quality out-of-school time programs, and of citywide systems that can deliver and maintain them.

The second is a new Wallace research synthesis, Research Findings to Support Effective Educational Policymaking: Evidence & Action Steps for State, District & Local Policymakers. It concisely ties together evidence-based lessons drawn from Wallace’s work in educational leadership, OST and arts learning that are relevant to the new “Race to the Top” federal education reform priorities.  It’s designed to provide a quick overview of Wallace’s key ideas and findings for federal grantseekers and anyone else engaged in planning for and pursuing the new education priorities.
