Sun, Cars, & Fun

In Sun, Cars & Fun, students use scientific principles and methodology to explore energy issues and the human impact on Earth systems and cycles, as they design and build energy-related appliances and model solar cars to race in the RI Junior Solar Sprint. Hands-on, discovery-based learning engages the students in knowledge acquisition, skills development and exploration of future careers as scientists and engineers, with projects and investigations outside complementing indoor work.

Young Planners & Builders

This program provides youth with discovery-based, hands-on learning through the exploration of green buildings, community design strategies and solutions to problems they identify in the world around them. Students have the opportunity to explore future career options, while developing positive character and citizenship traits. Students go on to plan and execute community improvement projects.
