B-Mor 7’s Poetry and Rap Writing
This program gives students the opportunity to explore various types of music as well as their own creativity in writing lyrics and poetry. Through this exploration students see the tremendous scope of spoken word poetry and rap, as well as their history. This is an eye-opening experience for the youth, introducing them to a vast, rich art form, of which rapping heard on the radio is only a narrow offshoot.
Cooking & Eating Club
Cooking & Eating is a fun and delicious way for participants to learn about cooking. Each week participants learn to prepare a different dish or meal. Whether it’s making breakfast, dinner or even homemade pizza, each week students will come away with sharper kitchen skills while practicing math, science and language arts skills. Instructor Doreen Grasso is a trained middle school teacher and incorporates academic learning into her class.
