Statewide Partnerships

Through partnerships with the Rhode Island After School Plus Alliance and the 21st Century Community Learning Centers initiative, PASA’s quality improvement work has reached providers statewide.

21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC)

The 21st CCLC is a national program that provides expanded enrichment opportunities to children attending low-performing schools. It provides funding to communities through a competitive proposal process and is administratively run by State Government. In 2007, the 21st CCLC initiative adopted the Rhode Island Program Quality Assessment tool (RIPQA) as a required tool for all its sites, and contracted with PASA to oversee the process.

The Rhode Island Afterschool Plus Alliance is a statewide advocacy and mobilization organization that leads policy, practice, and systems change so that community and school-based learning and youth development opportunities are aligned for student success.

RIASPA is a critical partner and supporter of PASA, particularly in our efforts to scale quality improvements, advocacy and policy work statewide. RIASPA has worked hand in hand with PASA to disseminate the quality standards and RIPQA statewide and develop a robust professional development menu to support practitioners.
